The Defence Research Laboratory (DRL) under DRDO is looking for young and motivated researchers to work on critical defense projects. This is a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) position, initially for two years, and it’s a great way to start your career in a premier government organization.

1. Educational Requirements:

Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Zoology: M.Sc./M.Tech/MVSc with a valid NET score.

Pharmacy: M.Pharm/M.S.(Pharm)/M.Tech (Pharm) with a valid GATE/GPAT/NET score.

Chemistry/Chemical Sciences: M.Sc./M.Tech with a valid NET/GATE score.

Environmental Science/Soil Science: M.Sc./M.Tech with a valid NET score.
2. Age Limit:

Maximum Age: 28 years (as of the interview date).

Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.
How to Apply: The Two-Step Process
Unlike basic internships, this JRF position requires pre-registration via email before you attend the interview.
Step 1: Email Your CV

Download the Appendix ‘A’ form from the official DRDO website.

Fill it out, attach a passport-size photo, and scan it.

Step 2: The Walk-in Interview

Report to the venue in Tezpur on May 19, 2026, strictly between 09:30 AM and 10:00 AM.

Note: The gates at the Military Station will close for candidates exactly at 10:00 AM.
Important Checklist for Interview Day
You must carry a complete “Interview Kit” to avoid being sent back from the gate:

Original Documents: All degrees, marksheets (10th to PG), and your NET/GATE/GPAT scorecard.

Identity Proof: Original Aadhaar Card (mandatory for entry into the Solmara Military Station).

Photocopies: One complete set of self-attested photocopies of all your documents.

Research Evidence: Copies of your published research papers or thesis (if any).

NOC: If you are currently working in a Govt/PSU/Autonomous body, bring an official “No Objection Certificate.”
Reality Check for Candidates

No TA/DA: DRL will not provide any travel allowance or daily allowance for the interview.

Location: The lab is inside a military station. Ensure you have valid ID and reach early to clear security checks.

Accommodation: You must arrange your own stay in Tezpur if you are traveling from far away.
Pro-Tip for Your Readers: Tezpur is well-connected by road from Guwahati. If you are coming from outside Assam, try to reach Tezpur by the evening of May 18th to avoid missing the strict 9:30 AM reporting time!
